Ei ole kauan, kun Hymyjen saarella, Sri Lankan kamaralla aloitettiin varovaisesti valtion koulun toiminta aste asteelta.
Mutta niin vain kävi, että koronapandemia sai väen kokoontumisista uutta puhtia ja alkoi leviämään. Nyt sitä on monessa muussakin kaupungissa kuin vain Colombossa, myös saaren eteläisessä provinssissa koulujemme alueella.

  Tämä tarkoittaa siis sitä, että meidänkin koulumme aloitus koronan ns. ensimmäisen aallon jälkeen siirtyy hamaan tulevaisuuteen.
Se ei suinkaan ole koronan vakavin vaikutus vaan se, miten paikalliset ihmiset tulevat pärjäämään elantonsa suhteen. Jälleen ravintolat, erilaiset ruokapaikat, kaupat yms. ovat varovaisempia ja maa ikäänkuin "sulkeutuu"  taas omiltaankin. Sen seurauksena mahdollisesti työnsä jo aloittaneet joutuvat luopumaan siitä jälleen, koskapa ulkonaliikkumiskielto palaa.

 Voimme vain toivoa parasta!

It is not long ago when, on the island of smiles in Sri Lanka, the operations of government schools were started cautiously, step by step.

However, as it turned out, the corona pandemic got new strength from public gatherings and started to spread. Now it has spread to many other cities, not just Colombo, and also to the southern province of the island, in the area of our schools.

This means that the opening of our schools after corona's 'first wave' will be postponed far into the future.

However, this will not be the most serious effect of COVID-19 but the fact how the local people will manage to make a living. Once again, restaurants, various eating places, shops etc. are more cautious and the country practically ”shuts itself up” from its own people. As a consequence, those who may have started their work already must, once again, give it up as the lockdown will most likely be imposed again.

We can only hope for the best!

Koulun ikkunat on saatu jo lähes valmiiksi. The school windows are almost finished. Oppimiselle mahdollisuus Opportunity for Learning

Uuden keräysluvan turvin koulunkäynti on edelleen turvattu. Tilin muututtua yritystiliksi keräyslupa on jatkuva. Se vaatii kuitenkin meiltä vastuullisilta enemmän työtä ja myös tilinhoitokulut nousivat huomattavasti. Mielellään kuitenkin teemme tätä iloa ja oppimista tukevaa työtä ja haluamme taata koulutuksen mahdollisuuden ja kenties sen myötä paremman tulevaisuuden. After receiving the new collection licence, school operations continue to be secured. As the account changed into a company account, the collection licence will be continuous. However, it will demand more work from us responsible, and the account management costs also increased considerably. Nevertheless, we are pleased to do this work supporting joy and learning and we want to guarantee the opportunity for education and perhaps, along with it, a better future.

Silmälasikeräys on voimassa kaiken aikaa! Collection of eyeglasses is valid all the time!

  Olemme jälleen saaneet yksityisiltä sekä yhteistyökumppaneiltamme, mm. FennO- Optiikalta ja Jyväs-Optiikalta, runsaasti silmälaseja, joita on tällä hetkellä kasassa jo 450 kpl. Pakkailen niitä matkalaukkuun odottamaan seuraavaa matkaa; mielessä auringon lämpö  ja ihanat, iloiset ihmiset...antaahan se aavistuksen verran mukavaa tunnetta rintaan ja nostaa hyviä muistoja pintaan aiemmista matkoista silmälasilastien kanssa.   😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎🙋🌞🌞🌞   We have once again received plenty of glasses, amounting to 450 pcs at present, from private individuals and our cooperation partners, for example Fenno Optiikka and Jyväs-Optiikka. I am packing them to a suitcase to wait for the next trip; the warmth of the sun and lovely, happy people in my mind...it surely gives you a nice feeling inside, even slightly, and raises good memories of the earlier trips with loads of glasses.
