Telluschool in Sri Lanka, Hikkaduwa

Maailman epidemia- ja pandemiatilanne kattaa nyt myös Sri Lankan. Siellä on koulut suljettu ja kaikenlainen ryhmässä tapahtuva opetus on kielletty toistaiseksi (alla virallinen tiedote asiasta). Siispä Telluschool on myös tauolla. Myös vielä siellä olevia turisteja, paikallisia oppaita ja muuten turistien kanssa työskenteleviä kartellaan siinä pelossa, että he levittävät tautia edelleen. Ei auta kuin odotella ja toivoa tilanteen muuttumista paremmaksi koko maailmassa. The world's epidemic and pandemic situation now also covers Sri Lanka.   Telluschoolin oppilaiden äideille on aloitettu nyt oma yhteisörakentaja-kurssi. Nataśha vetää sitä ja mukana on yksi äiti, joka pystyy olemaan tulkkina sinhalasta englanniksi ja päinvastoin. We have started a community builder course for the mothers of Telluschool pupils. Natasha is leading it  with the help of one mother who can act as interpreter from Sinhala to English and vice versa. Ensimmäisellä kerralla paikalle tuli noin 30 äitiä, siis todella hyvä osallistumisprosentti. Kurssi jatkuu kaikkiaan neljä kertaa viikon välein keskiviikkoisin  Lasten kanssa on harjoiteltu aakkosia ja niistä sanoja, numeroita ja niiden avulla pieniä keskusteluja pareittain. Kuten kaikki tiedämme, maailman merissä on muovia niin paljon, että sitä on vaikea edes käsittää.  Telluschoolin väki Sri Lankassa haluaa olla omalta pieneltä osaltaan olla auttamassa, ettei niin kävisi jatkossakin.
