Koulut ovat jälleen avanneet ovensa Hymyjen saarella Sri Lankalla. Myös koulumme Telluschool on varovaisesti käynnistänyt toimintansa ensin yhdessä kylässä, Rathgamassa ja pikkuhiljaa laajemmin.

Happy news!

Schools have reopened their doors in Sri Lanka, on the island of smiles. Our Telluschool has also started its operations cautiously, first in one village, Rathgama, and gradually on a larger scale.

Ahkeraa työskentelyä heti, kun kouluun on päästy takaisin.

Voimme vain toivoa, että nämäkin kuvan oppilaamme voivat jatkossa olla taas oppimassa uutta, eikä corona saisi enää otetta kansasta.

Jatkossa pyrimme mahdollisuuksien mukaan, lahjoitusten niin salliessa, avustamaan edelleen varattomimpia perheitä esim. peruselintarvikkein, kuten riisi ja vihannekset.
Apunne on pelastanut monen perheen uskomattoman kamalan tilanteen juuri näiden em. avustusten kautta.

We can only hope that our pupils in this photo can stay at school in learning new in the coming days and that the coronavirus will not get a grip on the people.


In future, donation funds permitting, we will still try to help the families with less means by providing basic foodstuffs, like rice and vegetables.

Your help has saved many families from an unbelievably hard situation through this above mentioned support.

Koulun ikkunat on saatu jo lähes valmiiksi. The school windows are almost finished. Die Schulfenster sind fast fertig Tässä tehdään suunnitelmia ikkunoiden kuljettamiseksi 10 km:n päähän Rejjipuran koululle. Tämä puusepän verstas on todella jyrkän rinteen alla kapean hiekkatien mutkan takana, eikä sinne kovin iso auto edes pääse. Ikkunoiden karmit pitää rakentaa paikan päällä koululla ja sen jälkeen ikkunat voi asentaa paikalleen. Here, plans for transporting the windows to the distance of 10 km to Rejjipura school are made. Kesä talven keskellä Summer in the Depth of Winter

Pohjolassa lumen keskellä on mukava ajatella, että muutaman viikon päästä matkustaa kouluja ja kesää katsastamaan. Koronavuosien takia on ollut pitempi tauko matkoissa sinne kauas, mutta yhteydet puhelimitse ovat olleet sitäkin tiuhempia. Koulujen lukuvuoden vaihtuminen on takana ja oppilaat ahkeroivat taas. Seuraava pikku loma on huhtikuussa, kun koittaa maan oma uusi vuosi. Viime viikolla saatiin hankittua 100 reppua ja muita koulutarvikkeita uuden kouluvuoden alkajaisiksi. Yksi reppu oli maksanut 2350 Lr eli noin 5-6€. Hinta on noussut huimasti kuten kaikki muutkin hinnat. Aiempina vuosina (ennen koronaa) reppu maksoi noin2-3€. Oppimiselle mahdollisuus Opportunity for Learning

Uuden keräysluvan turvin koulunkäynti on edelleen turvattu. Tilin muututtua yritystiliksi keräyslupa on jatkuva. Se vaatii kuitenkin meiltä vastuullisilta enemmän työtä ja myös tilinhoitokulut nousivat huomattavasti. Mielellään kuitenkin teemme tätä iloa ja oppimista tukevaa työtä ja haluamme taata koulutuksen mahdollisuuden ja kenties sen myötä paremman tulevaisuuden. After receiving the new collection licence, school operations continue to be secured. As the account changed into a company account, the collection licence will be continuous. However, it will demand more work from us responsible, and the account management costs also increased considerably. Nevertheless, we are pleased to do this work supporting joy and learning and we want to guarantee the opportunity for education and perhaps, along with it, a better future.
