Korona on levinnyt Sri Lankassa hurjasti ja siitä johtuvien päivittäisten tartuntojen sekä kuolemien määrä on ollut jatkuvassa nousussa. Maassa on ulkonaliikkumiskielto, jonka jakso voi olla muutaman viikon kerrallaan, vaihdellen maan eri osissa. Valtaosalla ihmisistä ei ole työtä, koska kaikki paikat ovat suljettu uudelleen juuri alkaneen pienen toivonkipinän ilmaannuttua.
Ruuan hinta - kalan, kanan ja vihannesten sekä riisin- on noussut moninkertaiseksi ja näin ollen kaikilla ei ole riittävästi syötävää.
Tällä hetkellä annamme apuamme pääasiassa edelleenkin ruuan muodossa ja sen mahdollistatte te, ihanat lahjoittajat.

The
coronavirus has spread dramatically in Sri Lanka, resulting in constantly
increasing rates of daily infections and deaths. A curfew prevails in
the country, being effective in periods of a few weeks at a time and varying in
different parts of the country. The majority of people have no work because all
the places have been closed again, right after the emergence of a small flicker
of hope.
Food prices – fish, chicken, vegetables and rice – have
skyrocketed and, thus, not everyone has enough to eat. At the moment, we
continue to provide our help mainly in the form of food and it is made possible
by you, our wonderful donors.
