Rejjipuran koulu on päässyt hyvin vauhtiin ja puutarhaakin on siistitty yhteisvoimin. Koulupäiviin kuuluu sisällä istumista, mutta myös ulkona puuhailua. Tämä projekti oli suojaisan leikkipaikan rakentaminen pihaan. Siitä tulee eräänlainen maja.
The Rejjipura school has made a good start and the cleaning of the garden has proceeded with joint efforts. School days include sitting inside but also activities outside. This project was to build a sheltered play area in the yard. It will be some kind of a hut.
Kylän aikuiset ovat mielellään apuna näissä puuhissa. Muutama äiti ja yksi isoisä opettavat lapsille, kuinka tukikepit saadaan pysymään pystyssä maassa.
Rakennustavaraa riittää koulun tontilta majojen tekoon.
The village adults like to assist in these jobs. A few mothers and one grandfather taught the children how to make the supporting poles stand in the ground. There is plenty of building material available on the school yard for making huts.

The children are watching carefully how the work proceeds☺. The teachers are following the activities dressed in their working outfits, saris.
Onpa yksi nuori isäkin ehtinyt kalastukselta apuun. Vauhdikasta menoa näyttää olevan!
There is even one young father who has managed to come to help in between fishing. There seems to be full of action!
Rejjipuran koulussa on lapsia tällä hetkellä joitain kymmeniä ja kalusteitakin on saatu hiukan lisää.
Keväällä kouluista on lomaa kuukauden verran, mutta tämä Montessorikoulu sekä iltapäivien englannin opetusluokat käyvät koulua kuitenkin. Lapset eivät malttaisikaan olla lomalla, se on nähty :)
In the Rejjipura school, there are some tens of children attending at the moment, and we have been able to obtain a little bit more furniture. In the spring, schools have a month-long holiday but this Montessori school and the afternoon English teaching classes will be running. Either way, the children could not stick being on holiday, it has been seen☺.
Koululaiset saavat ruuan kerran päivässä ja se kustannetaan lahjoitusvaroista. Jos niitä ei juuri sillä hetkellä ole, sen maksaa paikallinen ystäväperhe, joka on vastuussa koulustamme.
Ruoan valmistaa yksi perheenäiti Rejjipuran kylästä, aivan koulun läheltä. Hänelle maksetaan päivässä 2000 rupiaa eli reilu 10 €.
Näin tämä koulu työllistää myös kyläläisiä.
Ikkunat ja ovet ovat vielä puusepällä, mutta hyvin näyttää tuo kaislaverhokin suojaavan.
The school children receive a meal once a day, and it is paid from the donation funds. If there are no funds at a particular moment, the local family who is responsible for the school will pay for it. The food is prepared by one mother living very near the school in the Rejjipura village. She is paid 2000 rupees a day, i.e. about 10 euros. Thus, this school also provides employment for the villagers.
The windows and doors are still with the carpenter, but the rush curtain seems to give enough shelter.

Kumaran perheen isoäiti, ihana ja auttavainen Amma on aktiivisesti mukana koulun toiminnassa ja pitääkin silmällä koulurakennusta silloin, kun ei ole koulua. Hän myös huolehtii itse, että koulussa on aina siistiä, kun oppilaat tulevat opiskelemaan.
Hän myös mahdollisuuksiensa mukaan on rahallisesti auttamassa koulua. Tässä kuvassa hän luovuttaa vihkoja opiskelua varten kylän lapsille. (Silloin ei ollut vielä kunnon lattiaakaan.)
The Kumara family’s grandmother, lovely and helpful Amma, is actively involved in the school operations and keeps an eye on the school house when there is no school. She also takes care herself that the school is always clean when pupils come to study. Also, she gives financial help to the school as far as possible. In the photo she is giving note books to the village children for learning. (At that time, there was no proper floor even).
Tämän toisen, Rejjipurassa sijaitsevan koulun PÄIVITTÄISET menot ovat noin 20-25€. Siihen sisältyy opettajien (2) palkat, lasten lounas ja kaikki hankittavat materiaalit, kuten vihkot ja muut koulutarvikkeet.
Ei lainkaan suuri summa meille, mutta siellä se on vähän toinen juttu. Tervetuloa tukijoukkoihin!!!

The DAILY expenses of this second school in Rejjipura are about 20-25 €. This includes salaries for the teachers (2), lunch for the children and all the materials to be obtained, such as note books and other school supplies.
