Onnellisia löytäjiä Happy finders

Niin monet ihmiset, joille olen asiasta maininnut, ovat ottaneet haasteen vastaan ja keränneet silmälaseja, joille on kysyntää Sri Lankassa.  

Näissä tilanteissa on monta makutuomaria mukana ja siinä pääsee hyvin kommunikoimaan, sanoin tai sitten elein, paikallisten kanssa. Kaikki ovat iloisia.

So many people to whom I have mentioned the matter have accepted the challenge and collected eye glasses, which are in great demand in Sri Lanka.

On these occasions there are many judges in matters of taste, and it is a good opportunity to communicate with locals, either in words or gestures. Everybody is happy.

In addition to the working period in the school in the autumn, Joel was charged with the task of recording at the medical examination occasion.

Kaikista tutkituista tehtiin kortti jatkoa ajatellen. Varmemmaksi vakuudeksi korttiin laitettiin vielä koulun leima.

A card was prepared of all the people examined for future use. To be on the safe side, the school stamp was also put on the card.

Samaan aikaan uuden koulun avajaisia valmisteltiin ja paikkoja laiteltiin kuntoon.

At the same time, preparations were made for the opening of the new school and the place was put in order.

Tässä tulee olemaan kaksi luokkahuonetta, joissa opiskelee kummassakin kerrallaan noin 50 oppilasta. Katon puuosien purku ja lattian valu on ihan näinä päivinä ja koulun aloitus on 11.1.2016.

This area will have two classrooms, each including about 50 pupils at a time. The wooden parts of the roof will be taken down and the floor will be laid at any day now and the school will start operating on 11 January 2016.

Katon valun valmistelua. Joulukuun puolivälissä sadekausi lopultakin helpotti ja työt pääsivät vauhtiin oikein kunnolla.

Työmaalla tarvittiin valaistusta, koska usein töitä jatkettiin auringonlaskun jälkeenkin.

Lighting was needed at the construction site because work was often carried out after sunset.
